Christopher Harrison (Father of Aerial Yoga) is a trailblazer. A global wellness entrepreneur, a shapeshifter in the field of movement and a biohacker in D.I.Y wellness, he is the visionary and Founder of AntiGravity® Ent. (est. 1991) and AntiGravity® Fitness (est. 2007) both of which carved territory in new genres.
Harrison’s upward discoveries and contributions to humanity in the field of movement and in the healing arts have been revolutionary and continue to evolve at his AntiGravity Lab in NYC. His distinctive approach has earned him the moniker of "kinetic philosopher."
Christopher is also a Broadway Aerial Choreographer who has contributed to many Tony award nominations and multiple wins. The AntiGravity® Theater and National Training Center for the aerial arts in Orlando Florida holds contracts with some of the world’s largest institutions and is continually innovating.
A former world-class gymnastic athlete and later professional acrobatic dancer on Broadway, Harrison, an extreme athlete before there was such a category, challenged the limits of gravity beyond his physical capacity. This resulted in many physical hardships while pursuing his fanciful dream of flight.
By the age of 40, Harrison was grappling with persistent injuries. Western medicine had no viable solutions and he had become heavily dependent on chiropractic care. He determined that his physical ailments were rooted in compression and devised a new approach to decompressing his body through inverted traction. He made his unique form of healing movement into both a methodology and an art. This innovative approach to holistic wellness not only alleviated his own physical discomfort but also inspired him to become a kinetic pioneer.
Recognizing the potential of his methods to benefit humanity, Harrison developed his techniques into a comprehensive system and established the AntiGravity® Fitness Academy (officially founded in 2007). His techniques encompass a range of styles from his own extensive physical background including yoga, Pilates, barre, dance, gymnastics and therapeutics.
Harrison's innovative approach, the zero-compression inversion, previously unseen in the world of movement, has now been widely adopted globally and is just one of hundreds of his unique kinetic creations. His original invention, the Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock, along with the eight fully accredited associated programs, has revolutionized the fields of yoga, fitness, and healing arts and is now in over 50 countries.

Entertainment and fitness visionary Christopher Harrison is a producer/director/Tony Award winning aerial choreographer and fitness expert; a former world-class gymnastics specialist and Broadway dancer. As a pioneer in the field of aerial and acrobatic arts in America, Christopher's innovations have inspired the current aerial, parkour and acrobatic cultural explosion in America and across the globe. While at the University of Utah Christopher was discovered by Academy Award nominee Herb Ross who cast him in the Kevin Bacon/Sara Jessica Parker dance blockbuster, Footloose. He then moved to New York City and began his professional career on Broadway, Television and Film where he originated pop culture iconic characters such as MTV's Moon Man and the Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Donatello.
While performing, Christopher discovered that acrobatics, which inspired his artistry as a child, had disappeared from contemporary entertainment and the cultural landscape in America. In an effort to fill the gap, Christopher created AntiGravity as a hybrid of: artistic sports, performing arts, circus acrobatics, aerials, contemporary dance and hip hop, to embody a philosophy that nurtures creativity and emphasizes the joy of movement. In 1991, AntiGravity emerged to become America's premier aerial acrobatic entertainment and suspension fitness company. Under Christopher's direction and choreographic helm, AntiGravity's critically acclaimed work has flourished on the the world's largest stages including: President Barack Obama's Inauguration, the Olympic Games, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the Metropolitan Opera House, Broadway, the Grammy and Academy Awards; with the most popular artists and tastemakers of the day including: Stephen Spielberg, P. Diddy, Richard Branson, Kanye West, 50 Cent, George Lucas, Steven Forbes, Nelly, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani & No Doubt, Heidi Klum, Usher, Rihanna, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Bill Gates, George Soros and Alexander Wang.
